Ava Labs, the team behind the Avalanche blockchain, has laid off 12% of its employees in order to reallocate resources and focus on the growth of the firm and the Avalanche ecosystem. The layoffs were confirmed by Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer, who emphasized that the company is well-positioned with ample resources. The layoffs reportedly affected around 40 people out of the company’s 335 employees, with many coming from the marketing team. The decision comes amidst a challenging crypto market, with job openings still scarce. However, some hiring activity has been observed in recent weeks as companies anticipate a potential talent shortage in the future.
