Matter Labs CEO Alex Gluchowski has responded to allegations made by Polygon Zero, denying that the company copy-pasted code from their system without proper attribution. Polygon Zero had accused Matter Labs of copying “performance-critical components” of their zero-knowledge system called “Plonky2” for their own proving system called “Boojum.” Gluchowski stated that every decision made by the team at Matter Labs is based on integrity and transparency, and while he admitted that they could have done better in terms of attribution, he denied the allegations as unfounded and misleading. He also acknowledged that the accusations may have been a result of rushed arguments and inaccurate statements.
